Let’s start at the beginning. Tell us who you are and where you’re from.
My name is LizMari and I am 25 years old. I reside in Europe… The Netherlands. But I’m an island girl, born on an Island called Curaçao.
What’s it like in The Netherlands?
Holland is ok I’d guess. But it’s relatively cold and it rains quite a lot. I have my friends and family over here and I never have a dull moment. My friends make sure of that. Most people don’t even know where The Netherlands are, but as soon as I tell them Amsterdam, they all know. My mom brought me here so I could get an education and wouldn’t have to struggle as much. As good as it is or was on Curaçao, I would be able to get better everything here.
How long have you been modeling?
It’s been about 2 years so not too long.
What brought about your entry into the modeling industry?
Well in my family everyone seems to love the camera, I found out that I seemed to love the camera at the tender age of 1. I light up as soon as I stand in front of a camera. But I wasn’t really taking this serious, because of my body. In my mind a model was a size 2 or 4. I’m a size 6 to 8 at 5 feet 7. But still a talent scout saw something in me. Which made me decide to take things more serious and try and pursue it on a pro level.
Relatively new to the industry, how has your experience been so far?
So far so good, I really love it!
What are the things you are most proud of during your modeling career?
Not letting myself change. Being in this industry it’s easy to start thinking and act different. I’ve been the same from start and hopefully will be the same at the finish.
You have to be smart in this game. There are definitely a lot of vultures out there. Out of all of the work you’ve done in your short modeling career, what would you say is your favorite?
I really enjoyed working with Mark Meijering and Tania Huttner. Because of my voluptuous figure, most photographers wanted to do glamour with me. They saw something different in me and tried to make it more fashion.
Is Eye Candy modeling your main focus?
No it is not. But it’s fun doing it and gets me exposure.
What makes you Eye Candy and would you consider yourself more “brains” or “beauty”?
My figure and face. Plus I seem to have something sensuous about me without making it to trashy. I have my bachelor degree in Communication & Multimedia Design. So I’d consider myself a mixture of both.
